Mud Hens Summer Baseball Team
Centex Collegiate Baseball League (CCBL)
Official page of the Mud Hens, coached by Mitch Levinson
Welcome to the Mud Hens
The official Mud Hens page, part of the Centex Collegiate Baseball League (CCBL). I’m Coach Mitch Levinson, and each summer I manage and coach this competitive collegiate-level team focused on development, reps, and opportunity.
About The Team
The Mud Hens compete in the CCBL, a premier summer league featuring college athletes from across Texas and beyond. We are a full member of the league and play a full schedule of 20–24 games across 10–12 game days each summer. Each game day includes a 7-inning doubleheader.
Coaching Philosophy
Summer baseball is about reps and progression. My approach emphasizes:
- Consistent reps in both games and practices
- Position-specific opportunities each game day
- Collegiate-level development without overuse
- Balanced team structure for optimal rotation
I prioritize giving every player the chance to:
- Play an entire game in their primary position
- Split time across doubleheaders when needed (3–4 innings per game)
- Rotate efficiently and safely, especially for pitchers
